After much discussion and consideration, the AFCEA Montgomery Chapter Board of Directors and PEO BES leadership decided to postpone the 2020 Montgomery Information Technology Summit (MITS) until 2021. Our decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat and the health and safety of speakers, attendees, and volunteers. Our intent with this proactive and preventative action is to ensure the event does not contribute to spread of this terrible disease.
Your continued support to MITS events is greatly appreciated. It's because of your commitment to MITS and the fund-raising golf tournament, we are able to produce a first-class events and dedicate over $100K towards Education Foundation programs. Our Education Foundation will experience a huge financial setback because of this unfortunate situation. The scholarships, internships, and educational programs we support will be significantly impacted. Even with this setback, we will continue to do what we can to promote STEM in the River Region Area this upcoming year.
We will refund 100% of all MITS and Golf Tournament registrations with no action needed on your part. We will work with our sponsors to either keep their current sponsorships for MITS 2021, donate all or a portion of their sponsorship to the Education Foundation (AFCEA Tax ID available), or obtain a total refund. We ask for patience as we begin working through the financial transactions.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Please continue to exercise safe practices to protect yourself and those around you. We sincerely thank you for our support and look forward to seeing you at MITS 2021.
